Alzheimer's

What a day we live in, technology is really robust. I was reading an article about a new device just put together in collabaration with Georgia Tech and Emory University in Georgia.

Two doctors have designed a device that is capable of detecting early Alzheimer's, it's called DETECT. This device is designed to be given while we are still healthy it checks our cognitive abilities. This test which is done with an LED screen and a computer will be able to be administered in your physicians office he will be able to track an individuals progress over the course of your yearly physicals.

This device is new and not on the market yet, but should be available later this year.
With the potential for millions of new Alzheimer's patients what with the baby boomers retiring now, this device with it's early detection capabilities will be a great medical break through.

The sooner Alzheimer's is detected the sooner medicine can be used to slow it's progress, for now there is no cure but maybe in the future with technolgy we will find the cause and then the cure. Till next time
